What is SEO?
Search Engine Optimisation. In a nutshell there are some really good options out there, but most of which can be done yourself when you buy your domain names. It involves listing them in different search engine registers and basically listing your domain name in as many places as you possibly can. The biggest mistake that people make when they get a website is that they think because they have one that people should be able to type in their domain name in a search engine and bingo, there it is. Unfortunately it is not the case.
A website is like a room dressed for a party, no one is going to come if they are not invited or see it advertised somewhere.
The website alone, is simply an electronic advertisement, showcasing your business, with perhaps the option to buy online. Understanding SEO is compared to jumping on the motorway that is bumper to bumper and expecting to bypass everyone that is already there to get to the city fast because you have a new car! The only thing that is going to get you to the city faster is by learning what you need to do to save time and know shortcuts, and dear I say it - patience!!. What moves your site up the search engines is hits on your site, in the beginning, and throughout the life of your site. Persistent and consistent clicks on your site. Every hit on your site gives it a little nudge ahead, and eventually it overtakes other sites to progressively move its way to the 'top'. Keep at it, nothing comes to us easily without being consistent and persistent.
